I enjoy the alchemy of taking the profane, (sociologically speaking, cast-off, discarded, devalued) and creating the sacred, what I call Garden Keepers. My inspiration comes from nature, myth, stories, and indigenous oral traditions. Most of my works come with a background story, because I believe that our stories can heal and guide us.
I have a Sociology Degree from Grand Valley State University. I consider myself an outsider artisan. In 2002, I began using the basic recipe I still use today. My work is represented by the Paul Collins Gallery, Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, and in The Urban Cottage.
